A single lucky ticket sold in Florida matched all six numbers to win the massive $214.9 million Powerball jackpot.
The winning numbers were 7, 23, 24, 56, 60, and the red Powerball 25. The Power Play multiplier was 2X.
This is the third time the Powerball jackpot has been hit in 2023, with the last win on April 6 in Oregon for $1.3 billion.
The Florida winner can choose between a $214.9 million annuitized prize or a $100.1 million lump sum, both before taxes.
If the annuity option is chosen, the winner will receive an immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments, increasing by 5% each year.
Despite the jackpot being won, players are reminded to check their tickets. The latest drawing produced 385,220 winning tickets nationwide.
Powerball tickets cost $2 each and are sold in 45 states, DC, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. Over half of ticket proceeds stay in the selling jurisdiction.
The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 24.9, with jackpot odds at 1 in 292.2 million. Drawings occur live every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
