Apple Maps is now available on the web as part of a public beta, accessible through browsers without needing an Apple device.
This move positions Apple Maps to compete with Google Maps, which has been accessible on desktops since 2005.
Users can get driving and walking directions, view photos, hours, ratings, and reviews, order food directly from Maps, and explore curated city guides.
Launched in 2012 with mixed reviews, Apple Maps has since improved significantly, adding features like 3D landmarks and offline maps support with iOS 17.
Web access is available in English and supports Safari and Chrome on Mac and iPad, as well as Chrome and Edge on Windows PCs, with plans to expand language and browser support.
Apple Maps has introduced detailed updates, including 3D landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame, ahead of the Summer Olympics in Paris.
