The majority of people believe that the Rottweiler breed originated from the herding dogs of ancient Rome, despite the fact that the breed's history is unknown. They have served a variety of purposes over their lengthy history.
Rottweilers descended from ancient Roman dogs
The Roman empire required a means of supplying its vast itinerant army of men with food as it grew. They marched cattle alongside the soldiers, herding them with their dogs.
Rottweilers were originally drovers, protecting cattle and other livestock
The protective nature of Rottweilers is useful in this situation. They guarded the money of the cattlemen in addition to the herd of cattle. No thief would dare approach the money that the cattleman secured around the dog's neck with a sack.
They also guarded money.
However, their abilities extend beyond simply protecting their residence and kin. Rottweilers make excellent service, therapy, obedience, guide, customs, carting, and drafting dogs in addition to being loyal friends.
Speaking of jobs&
By the middle of the 1800s, the Rottweiler breed had become unpopular. Dog carts had given way to donkey carts, railroads, and eventually to the outlawing of cattle droving, which left Rottweilers without employment.
They gained popularity as police dog
Many breeds, like Mastiffs and Great Danes, take great pleasure in resting their massive bodies against their owners. And so does the Rottie. This behaviour is said to have originated from the breed's requirement to move cattle, since they would head the cows in the proper direction with their bodies.
